Book Cover Illustration Ideas -The War of the Worlds

For this project, we were given a selection of books to choose from, in which we had to design a cover for.

I chose The War of the World by H.G Wells.

Lets get this straight. I do not like Sci Fi... It's just not my thing, but i wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone and work on something I don't like in order to work myself and challenge what my abilities. I checked out the book from the library and watched the film, the adaptation, was actually pretty good, I thoroughly enjoyed and got an idea of what was entailed in the book, AFTER the film, I read the book, and I enjoyed the book, better than the film... It just had a lot more going on for it, from the description to how its written, it really wraps you in its story line and its like you're part of the book itself.

I went out to oxford and the sea life centre, in order to take images that i thought would help me with this project... nature is any artists biggest inspiration, so lets roll back and use what was given to us!
